M.A. in Digital Film & Television Production from the University of York, United Kingdom, Nachiket Barve is an Indian filmmaker based in Ahmedabad with an industry experience of 9+ years, having keen interests in screenwriting, film direction and content creation.
At 19, while pursuing his engineering studies, he discovered that he is born to make films. A 3-month film-making course which he had done right after high school gave him the confidence to go ahead and make a short film. So, he wrote a 10-page script, picked up a camera, called up a few friends, and made a short film. The experience of making this short film made it clearer that filmmaking is indeed his true calling.
He then continued to make short films, documentaries, music videos and web series under his banner Niket Productions. This experience helped him bag a Gujarati feature film COLORBAAJ (released on: 1st September, 2017) in the capacity of an Assistant Director and the Making & Behind The Scenes Director.
Upon completing his engineering course, he went on to study film making at the highly prestigious University of York, a member of Russel Group of Colleges, where he learnt the nuances of film and television production in detail.
APRIL, his graduation film was widely received at various national and international film festivals, including an official selection and a screening at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, New Delhi.
Opportunities in the field of filmmaking and creative communication excites him the most and forms a large part of his ikigai.
